were there more terrorists in Taj hotel

26/11: A Taj survivor's untold story Francois Gautier source : rediff.com February 27, 2009 There is not much to smile about post-26/11: the Indian government has got caught up in its strategy of exclusively pinning the whole blame on Pakistan, while ignoring the local jihadi support which had to be there in Mumbai [Images] (including inside the Taj Mahal and Oberoi hotels). It also missed the chance to carry out quick surgical strikes against camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (thus giving itself a good chance to win the next general election). The shame of a few terrorists holding to ransom an entire nation, its police, army and special forces has created too huge a gap in India's self-confidence. Finally, the whole tale of 26/11 was never told: How many terrorists were there and how many escaped with the hostages? Yet, here is a story about statistics that will not only make you feel better and positive again, but it is also the saga of a courageous woman w...

Asterisk hangup detection

After hangup ""most""" telecos send reverse polarity signal to callee to signal hangup. But some telcos does not do it. There are 2 ways to detect hangup in asterisk in India. do 1) Add answeruponpolarityreversal=yes in /etc/asterisk/zapata.conf . If it does not solve the problem then do 2) add buysydetect=yes, busycount=4, busypattern=750,750 in /etc/asterisk/zapata.conf. Else 3) edit zonedat.c file in zaptel/zonedata.c. //This would also take care of other tones But you should be done by 2. For 3 you have to recompile asterisk source. This should work for hangup detection in india. This would do for busy detection and hangup detection.

Pinki hopes to smile at Oscars

Smile Pinki - a 39-minute documentary by American director Megan Mylan - chronicles the story of eight-year-old Pinki's journey from being a social outcast in her village to her acceptance - and even deification - by society. Smile Pinki is one of the four short documentaries nominated for the Academy Awards. A 90-minute drive from the holy Hindu city of Varanasi takes us to Rampur Dhavaia village in Mirzapur district in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. To get here, we take a turn off the main highway and drive for about 20 minutes on a dirt road. We pass several huts to our left, all made of mud with thatched roofs, and stop when we rea...
The biggest winner in chess, last year, was Ylon Schwartz, 38, a FIDE Master who grew up in Brooklyn, New York, an uninspired student who took on odd jobs after flunking out of college. As a public school special education assistant he started playing chess for a few dollars on the side, and soon was hustling $100 per day playing chess against passersby in Manhattan's Times Square. He soon devoted full-time to gambling on backgammon, chess, darts and horses. An inveterate gambler, Schwartz made $340 from passersby on wagers that he would be able to throw a lemon across a street onto the top of a Burger King restaurant on the other side. Schwartz had practiced the throw the previous night and knew he could win the bets. Schwartz was introduced to poker – specifically to Texas Hold'em – by Fat Nick, a fellow backgammon player. He entered a pair of poker tournaments at a club run by Fat Nick in 2000, winning both and walking away with $12,000 and a new passion. Soon he stopped p...
