GNU software radio

GNU software radio is a free software toolkit currently under development under GNU. Its aim is to bring the ability to use a part of electromagnetic spectrum, from hardware to software. On a broader level its aim is to make all wireless devices redundant by bringing the functionality of all devices to home computer. Imagine a single device that can tune to radio mirchi 98.3 fm, communicate with other mobile phone users, control other appliances using wireless and lot more. And all for free since this software is currently being developed under an open source license.
