JYOTIRADITYA SCINDIA VISIT TO IIM INDORE

Today Jyotiraditya Scindia came for a guest lecture at IIM Indore. The gues lecture was at 10 am but the name of who was coming was announced at only 7:30 am on the same day. Previously we had got the communication that some one was coming for a guest lectue on postal sector reforms. I had thought that some IAS officer will come who will give guest talk on postal sector reforms.

But its amazing how different it was. Jyotiraditya Scindia has done his schooling from Doon School , undergrad from Harvard College and MBA from Stanford Business School. He came up dressed like a CEO instead like a politician. Being from a MBA graduate himself he asked us questions about composition of our batch, the teaching pedagogy that we use here and some other things. He had fantastic communication skills. In fact his communication skill was better than all other CEO's of big companies who have come up here. And on top of that he spoke with such infectious passion about Project Aero that he implemented in postal department. He said our postal department is the world'd largest logistics infrastructure in the world. But its distribution structure is old and employee morale is very low. He said Project Aero mission is making logistics infrastructure of postal department world class with aim of reaching a stage when every kind of product will be sold through indian post offices. He said his vision was to reach a stage where products from Maruti to fmcg will be sold through postoffices. He also told us about the steps which he took to bring to change the organization. I cannot elaborate all of them here. But i can say that is was very efficient and professional.

Finally he left us with following 3 messages
1 To be paranoid is necessary for succes
2 Do anything with lot of passion and heart success is bound to follow
3 For success it is necessary to have clear conscience
