Prestige
I watch movies very infrequently. But inspired by recent viral buzz of christopher nolan movie inception, i watched his movie Prestige for the sixth time. And though it is a thriller whose high point is the amazing twist at the end, still i felt only more amazed by the movie. In whole movie at repeated interval very simple two ideas are repeated:
(1)Everything in the world is common sense. There is no magic in the world. People still are unable to grasp simple common sense not because it is complicated but because they want to be fooled. They want to be amazed.
(2)If you have a secret don't tell anyone. Secret impresses no-one. Its the magic trick that is important.
The amazing twist at the end is not a twist at all in real terms at end. What is explicitly revealed at the end is repeated in the movie atleast 5-10 movies in dialog. But we refuse to believe that. There are 5-6 scenes in the movie where things happen according to what would happen if the thing revealed in the end was true throughout the movie. But still we refuse to believe.
Hats off to Nolan
