Changing World

I was wondering about recent events that have taken place in the world. There is wiki leaks which blew the lid off the lies that American politicians and diplomat had been telling to the world. Now no government can feel secure when telling lies to its people. In India also there has been sudden rise in number of scams that have been exposed. Not only exposure of scams that is important. Previously if governments used to take wrong actions, then still many of its citizens did not come to knew of it. Now in the age of information it is becoming more and more difficult for governments to escape accountability for their actions. And it takes no time today for a spark to transform into a raging fire. And if the government still refuse the listen, then the same medium which can expose them can also bring them down. As was seen in Egypt where the revolution was started by a Facebook posting. So i believe that growth in information technology will make the world governments more accountable to its citizen. And no country realizes this more than China which has largest online population in the world but also the biggest internet censorship program in the whole world.

Other than information technology the other major driving force behind changes in the world order in the coming times is going to be environment. The way we are exploiting the earth environment to build more factories to make the rich more richer is unsustainable. Already price of petrol has reached again the peaks of $100 per barrel. Two of the earth's hottest year in history has happened in the last 5 year. As a result climate changes are severely disrupting the food production in the world driving the food prices higher and higher. This increase in food prices was one of the trigger behind wave of revolution in western counties. But this is just the start of far reaching changes in the environment. If a country's government is not able to provide food and water to its citizen it won't be able to hold its own. Besides that prices of all the renewable resources are going to move in one direction only.
