The Jairam Ramesh controversy
Last week Jairam Ramesh stirred a national debate on whether our national institutions are world class. While there can be no debate on the point that quality of output ( research work )produced by IIT's and IIM's is not world class. The real point of contention is that whether students or faculties of these institutes are better. And the simple answer if ever was a teacher better than his students then he would not be teaching them. Because in every educational institution in the world without exception the expected average package of students is greater than their teachers/professors. And the key word is average. Students who are better than their professors they add value to their institutions. And the rest of students they get value addition from their professors.
