5 year integrated programme of managment of IIM Indore

There is buzz going around the place about IIM Indore 5 year integrated management program. It is the first time that a IIM is opening its doors to undergraduate. The program will start from this year with initial intake of 120 students. It will be split into two parts. Graduation will be 3 year course where fees for every year will be Rs 3 lakh. Post Graduation will be of 2 years with fees of Rs 5 lakh every year. Besides the tution fees the lodging expense for the whole program will be Rs 4 lakh. So the total cost of the program will be Rs 23 lakhs.

But the question that arises is whether this programme is not for rich people. There was a time when average salary of IIM graduate was 10 to 15 more than his cost of education. True education should not be measured by rerurn on investment. But at the end of my pgp i am thinking that what education MBA is about. You get some knowledge about business and some good friend.  And from IIM Indore you will get a IIM brand but that is surely not worth Rs 23 lakhs
