Indian Culture
It is said that Indian culture is very old. It is said that Indian culture has evolved over past 2000 years. Then why Indian culture is under threat from American culture. Why do we keep looking for stamp of approval from Foreign for every thing we do. We do not respect our citizens unless they get a stamp of approval from united states. Every where i do see there is no one proud of being an Indian. Of course if asked most of the people will say they are proud of being an Indian. But when it comes to action it is is completely different matter. There does not comes to my mind even a single person after independence who has done something for the country. It seems as if before getting independence there were many leaders like Subhash Chandra Bose and Mahatma Gandhi who had a vision for our nation. At that time there was more of a sense of urgency among the people to serve the nation. People used to think that by liberating the country they will get rid of all evils. There was a sense of higher purpose since India was under British rule. But after independence there seems to be race among politicians to have more and more swiss account. Even Indian citizen has accepted corruption as a way of living. But what goes remarkably under appreciated is the fact that corruption hits the nation where it hurts the most. There is no trust in people for government. There is absence of fair and equitable opportunities. But there are lot of opportunity to lead a laidback life of job or trying to make money through corruption. The whole nation is getting more and more divided on lines of caste and region. In such a situation the movement of Anna Hazare was like a breath of fresh air. It was first protest in the country which had support through all sections of society.
