Modi vs Rahul vs Everybody else
A very senior politician said that Modi is such a divisive figure that he will not be able to create consensus for becoming the Prime minister. It seems every politician, either from BJP or Congress do not want Modi to be our Prime Minister. Every day I am getting sick of reading up paid articles in all the newspaper against Modi. All this is while the guy has never said publicly that he wants to be the next Prime Minister. He had a vision for Gujarat. No person in the country can deny that he has given to the Gujarati’s the state that they had dreamed of. Similarly he has a vision for our India. When the national calmality struck Uttarakhand, he has been the most proactive politician in the country in co-ordinating the relief efforts. What has been the Congress contribution ? Stopping Modi from going to Uttarakhand ? Somebody justly said that action speaks louder than words.
But what I want to write about is not whether Modi is right or not for our country. I am no political expert. There are more than 1200 million in our country. They have right decide that who will become our next prime minister.
But unfortunately our constitution is a joke. Our constitution gives us right to vote but it does not gives right to choose the person who will be our leader, who will make policies for our citizens and who will listen to us and speak to us.
So we have been condemned to a speechless leader for the past 10 years. A person whom everyone trusts to never rock the boat.
While we have made ridicule of that exemplary economist for the past 10 years, not believing that any joke made on that person only falls upon us.
It’s our political system where anyone who dares to bares his ambitions becomes the target of the status quo. It’s very easy to lampoon a person who is in forefront. So what everybody does, they wait and watch, sitting behind the show, to seize the opportunity when it comes without risking their position.
But, in the case of curious case of Rahul Gandhi, waiting behind the curtain strategy never works. As everybody knows you are right besides it. People claim that Modi is a divisive figure. But Rahul Gandhi seems to be merely a controversial figure, about whose intellect and capability, there seems to be consensus in India. I am yet to see a single facebook status update, comment or any news article where they have commended his performance on any parameter. There is so strong a consensus about Rahul Gandhi, that even for his staunchest supporters it becomes difficult to support him without ridiculing themselves. But you have to give credit to that guy also he visits every place which comes into highlight like when there were riots in Assam or when there has been floods in Uttarakhand. He makes a genuine effort to put up a performance without admitting his position behind the curtain. But the problem is that he fails to put up a show. He came into news in Assam because pilot of his Helicoptor refused to take off. He came into news in Uttarakhand when the state government had to make a special VIP rule for him.
So as we approach the next elections the choice will be once again upon us. This stage performance will go on. We would choose our actors for the next episode. People of India must understand they have only three choices. They guy who is in front of curtain, the guy who is right beside the curtain. If we will vote for everybody else, the governance we will get will be everything else rather what we deserve. Otherwise it is only two way race. Let the best guy win.
