I was thinking about Italian Mafia and our politicians. If anyone wants to understand how our politicians work he has to understand how Italian Mafia worked. The Boss always gave verbal order to his subordinates. In this way never was a crime was traced to him. When pressure of law enforcement agencies on  Mafia increased in 80' s and 90's then real boss used to operate behind a proxy. Proxy was on paper the boss but all decisions were taken by the real one. Similarly our current Indian Political system is operating. The real boss is operating behind a proxy. Like Mafia he distributes areas of operations among his cabinet ministers. Verbal order is given to the proxy who in turn tells his cabinet ministers. If ever a crime is exposed like 2G scam no one can convict the real boss or even his proxy who hides behind his karma and dharma. I am now reading Shantaram. Its amazing how much its author has done in a single life. Though his life is nothing to be inspired of. But its testimony to the fact that how much you can do in a single life if you chose to. And he is still not done yet.

After analyzing all my past failures and successes i have come to the conclusion that all the virtues and hardwork can get you to only gamepoint or match point of life. Like tennis its how you perform at bigger points that matters in life.

It is said that Indian culture is very old. It is said that Indian culture has evolved over past 2000 years. Then why Indian culture is under threat from American culture. Why do we keep looking for stamp of approval from Foreign for every thing we do. We do not respect our citizens unless they get a stamp of approval from united states. Every where i do see there is no one proud of being an Indian. Of course if asked most of the people will say they are proud of being an Indian. But when it comes to action it is is completely different matter. There does not comes to my mind even a single person after independence who has done something for the country. It seems as if before getting independence there were many leaders like Subhash Chandra Bose and Mahatma Gandhi who had a vision for our nation. Pratibha Patil has rejected the mercy petition of 3 convicts in Rajiv Gandhi murder case. There has been an outpouring of support towards the convicts from some section of irrational Tamil Nadu public. Every political party in Tamil Nadu is making appeal to president to pardon them. Though i have little knowledge of the case of Rajiv Gandhi assassination. I don't know what part these 3 people played in his assassination. But the fact that Supreme court of India has awarded capital punishment to them means that it has been proved beyond any reasonable doubt that they had hand in his murder and were involved significantly enough to deserve capital punishment. And it was assasination of Rajiv Gandhi, former Prime Minister of India. This makes me wonder how much people can be irrational in their demands. In the past week , two seemingly inter related events have shown how badly an efficient whistle-blower act is needed. In one of the biggest blot on democracy. The three MP's who exposed cash for votes scam have themselves been sent to jail. While no action has been taken against any member of ruling coalition. Amar Singh who is now on sidelines has been made escape goat. In such a rotten system investigative agencies have announced a reward of Rs 5 lakhs to anyone who provides clue for Delhi HC blast. The greatest factor guiding actions of individuals is concern for their safety. Who could trust such a system where even members of parliament are not even safe.
